Feisty Girl
A character created in 1999 and in progress still as a symbol of tenacity, passionate ethics, and enduring pop culture appeal.
Feisty Girl first appeared as a painting that was sold at an art show in Deep Ellum's Club Dada in Dallas, TX. When Jennifer moved to California that same year, she connected with art-f/x, a company that printed Feisty Girl and 15 other paintings as greeting cards and posters. Thousands of these were sold up and down the west coast in book stores and music shops like Barnes and Noble and Tower Records. Since then, Jennifer has been steadily focused on creating cartoon strips, little illustrated books and fun merchandise.
Get to Know This Visual Artist
Jennifer's love for art began very early on when she received a yellow, three-tiered Crayola set from her parents as a small child. Many coloring book pages and after-school watercolor lessons later, her calling had become loud and clear. With awards given while at Ursuline Academy and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree earned from the University of Notre Dame, she has consistently improved her skills and expanded her knowledge of art and its many genres. Jennifer's course remains steady as a professional artist for 30 years so far and counting, showing her work in Indiana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, California, and locations outside the US, such as Japan and Nevis. She has also been successful as a muralist, commissioned artist, scenic painter, wax caster/detailer, and professional illustrator.
